The ‘Gresham installation’ was in response to the 2018 Middlesbrough Art Weekend event. Artists were asked to produce work that would be on display in an area other than an art gallery.

I chose the Gresham area of the town centre because it was in the process of clearance and regeneration, which meant the interiors of the part demolished houses were exposed showing the remnants of previous occupants lives.

I produced 10 paintings of mythical beings that I thought of as the guardians of the remains. Each painting was painted on rolls of plain wall paper using acrylic paint. The paintings were then pasted on to the exposed interior walls.
